Dunny Seeker is an Australian public toilet finder and review platform operated by The Bendigo Standard. Our website is dunnyrater.com. You can contact us at bendigostandard.com.

Your location

Dunny Seeker may request access to your device's GPS location. Here is exactly what we do with it:

Your location is used only in your browser to show nearby dunnies and distances.
We do not store your location on our servers.
We do not track your movements over time.
We do not share your location with any third party.
Location access is entirely optional. The site works without it — you just won't see distances.
When you close the browser tab, your location data is gone.

Your GPS coordinates never leave your device. They are never sent to our server.

Account information

If you create an account, we collect:

Username — displayed publicly on your reviews
Email address — used only for account verification and password resets. Never displayed publicly.
Password — stored as a secure one-way hash (bcrypt). We cannot see your password.

Reviews and content

When you submit a review or add a dunny location, we store:

Your username, scores, comment, and the date of submission
The coordinates and name of any location you add

This information is publicly visible on the site. Do not include personal information in your reviews.

Cookies and sessions

We use a session cookie to keep you logged in. This is a standard, necessary cookie — it contains no personal data, just a random session ID. We do not use tracking cookies or advertising cookies of our own.

Google Analytics

What Dunny Seeker is for

Dunny Seeker is a platform for finding and reviewing public toilets across Australia. Reviews should be honest accounts of your actual experience at a specific toilet facility.

User accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
One account per person.
You may not impersonate staff, administrators, or other users.
Usernames that impersonate official roles (admin, moderator, staff etc.) are blocked.

Community rules

Review the toilet, not the business or its staff.
Be honest — only review places you have actually visited.
No hate speech, discrimination, or harassment.
No spam, fake reviews, or coordinated manipulation of ratings.
No personally identifying information about other individuals.
No advertising or promotional content.

Attempting to manipulate ratings — including submitting fake reviews, creating multiple accounts, or inflating scores — will result in a permanent ban.

Content you submit

By submitting a review or adding a location, you grant Dunny Seeker a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display that content on the platform. You retain ownership of your content.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these terms without notice.

Location data

When you add a new dunny location, you confirm that the location is a genuine public toilet facility. Adding fake, misleading, or duplicate locations may result in removal and account suspension.

Accuracy

Dunny Seeker does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of any information on the platform. Reviews are opinions of individual users. Always exercise your own judgement.

Limitation of liability

Dunny Seeker is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the platform.

Moderation

We reserve the right to remove content, suspend, or permanently ban accounts that violate these terms. Administrators' decisions are final.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia.
